Full-stack Engineer (Bankchain)

New York, NY

Our client is a financial technology company delivering pioneering blockchain solutions for global financial institutions. Its flagship service is a next-generation blockchain settlement platform that is transforming post-trade across capital markets. 


We’re looking for an experienced full-stack engineer to help us build a distributed system that will underlie the next generation of the global financial markets.  You’ll work with a development team to help define and implement the applications used by both our customers and our operations staff, and be front-and-center designing and developing these tools from the ground up.


  • Design and build a Blockchain based platform
  • Work as a part of a team to define architecture and best practices
  • Write high-caliber code on a daily basis to satisfy product requirements
  • Document best practices and act as a knowledgeable resource for blockchain  engineering and problem solving
  • Work cross functionally to ensure alignment and collaboration
  • Bring an entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit to the team
  • Be part of a fast-paced, agile environment



  • 2+ years of experience building backend applications using one or more of the following languages: Python (preferred), Go, C++ or Java.
  • 2+ years of experience building frontend applications--asynchronous and event driven programming
  • Experience working on large-scale distributed systems is a huge plus
  • Experience in distributed databases and key-value stores like Redis or Cassandra is a plus
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, Ember.js, Backbone.js, React, etc.Active demonstrable interest in distributed systems, DHTs or cryptography.


  • Understanding of Bitcoin, including familiarity with Bitcoin transaction scripting and knowledge of how Bitcoin and various other Cryptocurrencies differ.
  • Understanding of various distributed consensus methodologies (Mining, PoS, Paxos, Raft, etc).
  • Understanding of cryptography, including asymmetric encryption (pub/priv key), symmetric encryption, and hash functions.
  • Experience with back-end python frameworks such as Flask, Django or Tornado
  • Previous work contributing to an open source Bitcoin/Altcoin project.
  • Experience contributing meaningfully to one or more Open Source projects.
