Senior Software Engineer Full Stack - BackEnd (Data Technologies)

The Team:
Our Data Technologies team is responsible for building and maintaining systems that perform data integrations, calculate portfolio performance, and generate client statements and reports. As a Software Engineer in our team, you will contribute towards developing new features and enhancements, and support these systems.

The Opportunity:
  • Work in a small team developing solutions and optimizing data structures for our web-based wealth management software, which is developed in Java, Spring, relational and NoSQL databases 
  • Research, design and implement data access and integration layer using industry best practices
  • Work with development teams to implement Junit best practices and code review.
  • Identify, reproduce and track defects and production issues.
  • Determine release readiness and improve the release process.
  • Work with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Use and learn not just cutting-edge technologies, but also learn about the investment management industry.
About You:

  • A proven engineer who enjoys Java, Web Services and DB architecture and development, in a scalable distributed system.

  • Capable of quickly understanding business requirements and develop creative technology solutions.
Ideal Experience:
  • 4+ years of strong experience in Java, Web Services and integration with databases
  • 4+ years of experience with Spring and Hibernate (or other ORM tools)
  • 2+ years of DB software development experience, including design and implementation, and SQL
  • 2+ years of experience with CQL and Cassandra
  • 3+ years experience in leading development work as a tech lead in the relevant tech stack
  • Experience in developing automation testing in a CI and CD setting
  • Experience with stored procedures (PL/SQL) and data modeling is highly desirable
  • Experience with DB query performance and optimization
  • Experience in an Agile development methodology
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with ETL, Talend, data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and BI/Analytics is highly desirable
  • A BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
