Job Description

Our client has the potential to make a huge swath of private investing more transparent, more efficient, and more ethical.  We’re building a single platform that unifies hundreds of portfolio and market data systems and leveraging that platform to create robust, powerful financial applications. The problems we’re tackling are complex and globally important.
The technical effort involved to build a fast, scalable and reliable platform is massive.  Our client's engineering builds portfolio data ingestion systems that process tens of millions of transactions across millions of accounts every day, and pricing and reference data systems that provide coverage for over a trillion dollars in assets. We build and run our own distributing serving and financial calculation framework that allows clients to run complex analysis of massive data sets in real time. We design robust APIs and powerful, versatile user interfaces to empower wealth managers to ask nuanced questions about their clients' holdings.
Our newest product, Insights, is building data-driven tools and analytics to help our clients make better investment decisions, and an order management and execution platform to provide access to a wide range of investment products. This is an exciting new business for our client with high growth potential that is still in early stages of development. We’re looking for a proven technology leader and entrepreneur who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys the challenge of building a new venture within an existing high growth company. As Engineering Lead for Insights, you will partner directly with business leaders, set the overall technical vision and strategy for the business, grow and lead an engineering team, and directly lead implementation efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new, highly visible team at the ground level. The ideal candidate is comfortable working hands-on but also coaching and mentoring and is ambitious and results-oriented. Most of all, we want someone passionate about building high-functioning teams and high-functioning software.
The organization you'll be joining at our client is phenomenal. Our engineering group includes senior engineers and leads who have worked at companies like Google, LinkedIn, Two Sigma, and DE Shaw, working together to build elegant systems that bring transparency and efficiency to a vast swath of financial services. If you’re interested in that, we’re excited to meet you.
