Senior Software Engineer - Back End (Investment Management)

The Team:

The Investment Management team drives innovation and development in the areas of strategy and portfolio management, trade optimization, rebalancing, broker and custodian integrations. You will contribute to and lead projects building out our new features as well as rebuilding, upgrading, and enhancing our current products.

The Opportunity:

  • Build tools and services to enable our customers to build out their investment strategies and manage their clients’ portfolios.
  • Development within our core module optimizing trades to ensure customers are invested appropriately, with minimal cost and in a tax aware environment.
  • Research, design and implement backend processes and web applications using industry best practices
  • Work with development teams to implement Junit best practices and code review.
  • Identify, reproduce and track defects.
  • Determine release readiness and improve the release process.
  • Work with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Use and learn not just cutting-edge technologies, but also learn about the investment management industry.

About You:

  • Interested in the finance industry and investing
  • A proven engineer who enjoys Java, Web Services and DB architecture and development, in a scalable distributed system.
  • Seeking a challenging opportunity where your contributions will make a difference.
  • A motivated self-starter who can deliver individually or as part of a team.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing needs and requirements.
  • Results oriented and milestones driven.
  • Capable to quickly understand business requirements and develop creative technology solutions.
  • A BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of strong Java experience, Web Services and integration with DB
  • 4+ years of experience with Spring and Hibernate (or other ORM tools)
  • 2+ years of DB software development experience, including design and implementation, and SQL
  • 2+ years of experience with CQL and Cassandra
  • Experience developing in automating testing, CI, and CD setting
  • Experience with stored procedures (PL/SQL) and data modeling is desirable
  • Experience in an Agile development methodology
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills
