Job Description

1.    ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE                      

·         Manage projects of all shapes and sizes from large-scale waterfall implementations of IT Service Management systems to the Agile delivery of software development solutions to support our largest applications.

2.   SCOPE

·         Works professionally and effectively with all employees at GGHS in a high volume, fast-paced environment.

·         Communicates professionally and regularly with internal and vendor teams (business operations, marketing, and claims management teams) and/or corporate office.

·         Complex problem solving. You will be proactive in taking the initiative and the lead for identifying and resolving issues. You will cope with project changes effectively and efficiently. You are aware of all interdependencies in your project delivery and ensure everyone is aware of the linkages.

·         Represents GGHS to prospective clients, vendors, media and other external organizations.

3.    RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Oversee business and IT projects. You will be accountable for the overall delivery of projects on time, on budget, and on scope. You will:

    • Assess and manage risks, issues and changes within and across all projects.
    • Clarify and communicate project objectives and success criteria.
    • Drive delivery satisfaction with key business stakeholders.
    • Ensure established business processes are followed.
    • Manage budgets and escalate issues as required.

·         Introduce and implement high standards. You will ensure the use of best practices for delivering projects that exceed client expectations. You have excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.

·         Lead, manage and motivate the project team. You will foster a highly collaborative environment and encourage open lines of communication providing feedback and coaching to project team members.

·         Manage stakeholders. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and partners. You will build relationships and manage expectations, communications, escalations, feedback with executive sponsors, vendors, third-party partners, etc.

·         Prepare and present updates. You will prepare all status reporting and keep the appropriate people informed and up to date in a timely manner, such as team members, senior management and the business on the status of projects. This includes client-facing presentations during key project points and ad hoc requests.

·         Complex problem solving. You will be proactive in taking the initiative and the lead for identifying and resolving issues. You will cope with project changes effectively and efficiently. You are aware of all interdependencies in your project delivery and ensure everyone is aware of the linkages.

·         Be part of project oversight committee. You will actively contribute to the creation of plans and solutions around ongoing project management issues, go green plans, and the implementation of structure to the project charter.

·         Contribute to the ongoing development of the PMO and community at GGHS You will participate in, and assist with, company events such as training and internal initiatives.

Other

·         Adheres to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and client specific protocols.

·         Performs all work in a PIPEDA and HIPAA compliant manner.

·         Works in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related legislation.

·         Ensures strict standards for claimant/client confidentiality and complies with organizational and governmental regulations/policies.

·         Other related duties as assigned.

4.   YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

·         7+ years of data gathering/analysis and writing system requirements 

·         7+ years' Project Management experience

·         5+ years' experience demonstrating usage of methodologies (SCRUM, Agile, etc.) and best practices through the PM lifecycle

·         Degree, advanced diploma or equivalent directly related work experience.

·         Scrum certified

·         Familiarity with systems like Jira, GitHub, etc. is ideal

·         Experience in complex problem handling situations - resource/time constraints, quality challenges, release issues etc.

·         Experience handling multiple and short duration projects at the same time

·         Articulate compelling vision, develop followership systems thinking

·         Positive disruptor that can view opportunities vs barriers

·         Influencing stakeholders to achieve impact through collaboration, presence and strong communication skills

·         Guide the team with sound decision making

·         Superior English verbal and written communication and presentation skills

·         Superior computer skills including Microsoft Office 365

·         Experience working in the Insurance (Disability, Health, Life and Travel preferred), Third Party Administration (TPA) or Health Care Industry is an asset

·         PMP and SCRUM certifications an asset

5.   EFFORT AND WORKING CONDITIONS

·         Discretion in dealing with confidential/sensitive information.

·         Coordination and prioritization of time sensitive tasks.

·         Negotiates to resolve disagreements that may arise with clients, colleagues, and others encountered during GCS business.

·         Critical and analytical thinking required.

·         Ability to guide and delegate when appropriate.

·         Modifies behaviour and/or actions to easily adjust to new situations in a positive manner. Encourages others to adjust to change.

·         Works in a typical office environment and the noise level is moderate.

·         Sitting for long periods of time.

·         Exposure to constant interruptions/distractions, deadlines and multiple demands.
