Primary Function: 
Desktop Engineer is responsible for the delivery of Desktop Applications, Physical and Virtual Desktops through Local and Remote Access systems. Implements and maintains supporting systems and architecture to ensure a secure, highly-available and stable workstations for the firm.  The Desktop Engineer team is also responsible for project delivery related to supported technology.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, Administer, Implement and Support User Endpoint Systems and Operating Systems which includes:
    • Physical Desktop/Laptop Configurations (Windows 10)
    • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Citrix XenDestkop)
    • Thin Client Endpoints including Mobile Devices
  • Preparing Master Client OS Images
  • Management of Group Policies for physical and VDI user endpoint environments
  • Active Directory maintenance
  • Support VDI/Citrix Infrastructure
  • Develop and execute projects that drive IT automation and better end user experiences
  • Manage the lifecycle of end user equipment (research technology, provide guidance on selection, etc)
  • Guide desktop engineering standards and creating diagrams and documentation on the environment
  • Responsibility for the security of the end user endpoints meet the current standards of the organization.
  • Work with the IT Security team to improve and enhance security and suggest other tools to secure the user end point.
  • Manage the IT security products for the end points (vulnerability scanning, AV, application whitelisting)
  • Escalation support to the Help Desk and for enterprise applications

 

Requirements:

  • Six (6) years of IT knowledge and demonstrated hands-on experience and/or training in desktop engineering and administration (Windows)
  • In depth knowledge of SCCM, Microsoft Deployment Technology (MDT/OSD), Windows 10 Operating Systems. Virtualization (VMWare, Citrix UPM/AppSense), PowerShell, Group Policy and Active Directory.
  • Experience with security initiatives and technology including Device Guard, Application Guard, Credential Guard, Bitlocker, Carbon Black, DLP, Bomgar.
  • Experience with Windows Server System Administration a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a similar field
