Our client, the leading global payments company, is looking to hire a Director for their payments platform.

Reporting to Vice President, Operations & Technology this newly created role will be a part of the Markets and Transformation group and have a direct impact in driving long term evolution of the payments network.

Overview

  • Lead and manage long term build & enhancements to the payments platform

Role

  • Partner with senior executives and key stakeholders to define the payment network strategy
  • Drive execution of payment network strategy in partnership with the business product and tech development leads
  • Work with business partners to identify and recommend appropriate network solutions / value propositions based on strong understanding of customer and market needs / trends
  • Own development and management of payments platform capabilities throughout the life cycle including research, idea generation, concept validation, business requirements definition, platform and user-experience design, solution architecture, etc.
  • Interface with technical delivery teams to translate product requirements into technical specifications, ensuring mutual understanding and reducing time to market
  • Manage cross-functional teams of solution architects and business analysts ensuring timeliness and quality of product releases
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support to sales / customer facing teams and customers (including sales tool kits, training, platform showcase, user / onboarding documentation, etc.)
  • Proactively manage platform roadmap, demand intake, prioritization, and capacity planning with a "strategic lens" in conjunction with our product, regional, and technology partners
  • Partner with business partners to drive adoption, deployment and commercialization
  • Manage Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and financial forecasts (annual and quarterly) to drive overall delivery goals of Better, Cheaper, and Faster
  • Manage program governance across compliance, audit, security and risk processes in partnership with Business Operations and development partners
  • Work with technology and operations partners to enhance the quality, health and throughput of our platforms
  • Develop and maintain strong ongoing working relationships with key internal stakeholders in technology, operations and broader organization

The Candidate

  • Prior experience in and strong understanding of payments / fintech ecosystem
  • Strong understanding of various types of payment platforms / infrastructures (cards, ACH, SWIFT / blockchain, etc.) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in delivering high quality, global, scalable tech products / platforms in a matrixed organization
  • Technology domain expertise including understanding of new technologies e.g. cloud, blockchain
  • Strong business acumen as well as analytical and problem solving skills; expertise in strategy, product development / mgmt., planning and project mgmt.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments;; demonstrated bias for action
  • Ability to work with ambiguity; manage complex projects; flexibility to handle rapidly changing scenarios
  • Ability to build and lead motivated, productive, geographically diverse teams
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate complex ideas and solutions to both business and technical audiences
  • Strong collaborator, ability to work cross-functionally; ability to lead and influence at all levels
  • Willingness to selectively travel across office locations
