The Senior BI ETL Developer at GGHS will:

  • Be a consummate data professional with solid understanding of data management, integration and reporting.
  • Be tasked with implementing best in class data solutions across both on-premise & cloud platforms.
  • Be a collaborator with the solutions architect and business representatives to translate requirement and architecture into business value and production solutions.
  • Be guided by best practices - thinks in terms for frameworks and reuse in delivering real solutions to our customers.
  • Address data quality and integrity issues.
  • Understand and connect the dots of data dependency and flow many source data components of varied structures (non-relational, relational, dimensional).
  • Create business driven reports and dashboards on various platforms.
  • Be willing to broaden and deepen experience by keeping up with data management trend, learning new business processes & applications.
  • Work in an agile environment and ensure transparency of work.
  • Perform all work in a GDPR, PIPEDA and HIPAA compliant manner.


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent, plus 7+ years of experience in a large scale, complex database development environment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
  • 7+ year experience in database (relational and non-relational), advanced ETL development and reporting including:
    • MS SQL Server (2012 and above, 2016/2017 experience preferred) - deep development experience including all the security features.
    • SSIS & Azure Data Factory (ADF) – Experience in data migration, manipulation and reporting. Ability to export and import data from/to various formats including Excel, XML, JSON, EDI, a hybrid environment (on-prem and azure cloud).
    • SSRS & Power BI – reports and dashboard development.
    • SSAS - DataWarehouse design & development, multidimensional & tabular modelling.
    • Power BI – reports and dash.
    • Non-relational – MongoDB, Cassandra or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of design principles and highest proficiency level in SQL coding.
  • Previous experience working on data feeds and integration projects.
  • Test Case Automation experience (Test Driven Development principles).
  • End-to-End Audit process experience.
  • Working experience with source control (including SVN, TFS, Jira, Azure Devops).
  • Working experience in an Agile development environment.
  • Working experience with Azure Data Platforms (IaaS, PaaS) is an advantage.
  • API integration & SSO experience is an advantage.
  • Metadata integration experience is an asset.
  • Big data platform experience is an asset.
  • Experience working in the Insurance (Disability, Health, Life and Travel preferred), Third Party Administration (TPA) or Health Care Industry is an asset.
  • Industry Certifications is an asset.
