Job Description

 

The General Manager Information Technology is responsible for all strategic and tactical solutions for the designated business or operational area.  Responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and designing all IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the group and oversee the PCI compliance program. The General Manager will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions. This person will also define and implement appropriate IT policies, standards, procedures, and best practices. The General Manager serves as a thought leader for overall information security strategy, design, and execution. Promotes a culture that protects the company and its clients by making risk based decisions and integrating them into business strategies. Defines and implements security policies based on the concept of Best Practices in adherence to regulatory compliance.

 

The GM is comfortable with maintaining a public profile and building relationships throughout the organization. The Manager is also able to change priorities and focus to meet business demands, excels when working on complex projects, and is motivated to deliver results.

Essential Responsibilities

  1.  
    • Lead respective IT security operations and planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.

    • Partner to deliver an IT Strategy and an annual plan to support the business functions aligned to the area of responsibly including a solution and / or application and / or platform services roadmap

    • Own the relationship with our business's functional area leaders and is responsible for delivery of IT solutions to support the business functions the manager is aligned to.

    • Manage the IT and assigned Business unit relationship ensuring that clear and concise requirements are understood and agreed service levels are maintained 

    • Act as the escalation point for IT Security operational support to assigned portfolio applications with around the clock accessibility.

    • Manage a "portfolio" of applications / solutions / architecture from conception to retirement

    • Establish annual IT Security operation goals and execute to plan

    • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth within area of the enterprise.

    • Manage financial aspects of assigned area, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.

    • Ensure work practices are in line with all audit, security and regulatory requirements

    • Ensure that IT and business standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with Company policies

    • Ensure continued accountability for product and services delivery within assigned business units and across IT

    • Lead and direct team and/or indirect to support the engagement, growth and development of Succession plan for the IT department

    • Other duties as assigned

      Minimum Experience and Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline and/or demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities through at least five (5) years of previous experience and education

    • Three (3) years' experience in an IT/Business liaison role managing relationships with business customers 

    • Three (3) years' experience managing large portfolios or operating budgets and delivering large scale IT projects (PMBOK, MSF, SEI, Agile Methods, RUP)

    • Three (3) portfolio management, project delivery, and business partner management with at least two (2) years of supervisory/management experience

    • Three (3) years' experience in software development and/or production support and/or platform services.

    • Knowledge of Project Management (PMBOK) and strategic planning

    • Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts; Microsoft technologies preferred

    • Knowledge of the PCI DSS requirements

    • Available for moderate overnight travel (up to 35%)  

  • Able to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response on short notice

  • Able to report to the Long Island City Support Center (LSC) within 2 hours of being notified.

  • Provide on-call support

    • In possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States

  •  Managing a budget

    • Managing a full project or initiative, including presenting recommendations to senior leadership

    • Thorough knowledge of business function and thorough knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies

  • Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

    Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  •  

  • Experience with PCI compliance

  • Working on enterprise-wide budget process

  • Demonstrated vulnerability and/or threat centric approach to managing risk

  • Strong knowledge of new and emerging security technologies available in the market place and a proven ability to critically evaluate same.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical knowledge into business terms and present information security topics to executive leadership.

  • Hands-on technologist:  In depth knowledge of information security engineering principles relating to designing, building, monitoring and maintaining a secure infrastructure using various technologies including networking products, VPN, access control, firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, virtualization, and application security methodologies

  • In depth knowledge of Incident Response, Incident Management, Forensics processes and technology.
