About the Position

The Implementation Management (IM) team AKA  Navy SEALs are top technologists, who like elite special forces, operate in diverse and challenging environments, which demand a rare combination of skills:

  • Sales - skillfully negotiating non-functional criteria with senior stakeholders in the largest global institutions.
  • Engineering - designing and deploying infrastructure, installing the Platform, ingesting data, troubleshooting, scaling and carry out performance tuning.
  • Analytics - sifting through data, quantifying behaviors and surfacing insights.
  • Leading projects - planning delivery, coordinating resources and driving execution.

We are looking for senior project managers/ solution architects with strong hands-on Engineering/ DevOps backgrounds and experience in Capital Markets. You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and deliver complex technical projects for the biggest brands in Financial Services and beyond. Your influence will be felt across the entire deal cycle: from bidding and project scoping for PoC projects, to global production rollouts.

 

Responsibilities

  • Compete - we pride ourselves in winning 100% of Proof of Concept projects and you are expected to continue this great tradition. In the Deal team, you will drive complex highly competitive pilot projects and have full responsibility for non-functional components during the bidding process, project scoping and execution.
  • Negotiate - Standardisation is vital to the sustainable growth of Behavox. The IM team negotiates with client's infrastructure and security teams on specific implementation terms to ensure each project at least approximates an ideal standard. The successful candidate must, therefore, be logical, convincing, resilient and exhibit a significant depth of technical substance.
  • Design - alas, it's not possible to install our Platform from a flash-drive. You will plan implementations, giving early consideration to design primitives such as capacity, performance, availability, security and resilience to name a few. Nailing this is both fun and challenging.
  • Coordinate - This is a team sport. You will coordinate Technology and DevOps resources throughout project execution.
  • Implement - we optimize for speed through autonomy. The IM team is owning an increasing number of deployment and integration tasks using our internal DevOps-as-a-Product tool.
  • Prototype - our Platform is a distributed computing environment integrated with all corporate data sources providing a native IDE, a rich set of APIs leveraging Apache Groovy as well as proprietary visualization and behavioural modeling tools. With this arsenal at your disposal, you will help companies improve in compliance, efficiency, decision making, performance and culture.
  • Retain - our ability to retain knowledge is instrumental in scaling the business as well as driving the adoption of the Platform. You will contribute to our internal knowledge base by authoring implementation guidelines, technical white-papers and project documentation, all of client-facing quality.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in engineering/ infrastructure/ solution architecture roles in Tier-1/Tier-2 financial institutions.
  • Work experience in technology startups as well as large engineering firms is welcomed.
  • Demonstrated professional experience with the following:
  •  
    • Planning and implementation of complex infrastructure or development projects;
    • Sales engineering experience involving negotiation of project/contract terms with key stakeholders;
    • Design/implementation of Highly Available and secure software solutions in the enterprise;
    • Deployment and management of distributed architectures comprising J2EE/Hadoop/HBase/Elasticsearch/Spark;
    • Systems integration, good understanding of HTTP(S), REST, (S)FTP, LDAP, TCP/IP;
    • Experience with managing Linux-based systems; with at least one modern configuration tool such as Saltstack/Chef/Puppet/Ansible is a plus;
    • At least one scripting language;
    • Knowledge and application of statistical methods and Machine Learning algorithms (optional); and
    • AWS/GCP/Azure stack (optional).
